CHAPTER 14 (REMIX / VISIONS OF MENG)

ILLUSTRATION / PATRICK SINNOT

Arious’s bedroom was a mixture of several cultures. His world consisted of prophetic messages from music, the faith of the city and the influence of his parents who raised him from youth.

He had a moderate sized room for Chinatown, mainly because Sue and Yung had converted a vacant factory into an apartment.

Arious removed the scroll from his backpack and placed it on his night table. The scroll sat next to a picture of Yung, Sue, and an old deteriorated image of his birth mother.

Arious briefly looks at the photo of his mother and then focused his attention on the scroll. He turned off the lamp on his desk and got into bed.

He quickly drifts into the dream-like meditative state. There were cloudy and hazy images of previous Neverending Masters.

Then he saw Meng. The vision was clear, but Meng appeared to be grieving, he is hunched over, sobbing heavily.

Then, I appeared in the vision. I do not speak, but I guide him towards the image of the Soul Stealer.

He awakened from his sleep. He knew then, that he would have to face the Soul Stealer.
