In a press release by Shapeways, the 3D printing company announced a partnership with video game behemoth Valve. This partnership will allow fans of Valve games to design and sell 3D-printed merchandise, with royalty payments fully managed by Shapeways.
This is a first in the industry, but is likely to increase gamers’ happiness with Valve further. The license applies to all Valve IP, and requires a royalty payment of 10% of the retail price of the object.
