After working on a few campaigns with the Global Football and Basketball teams, I stepped into a new role as a Brand Narrative Director for the FALL2020 efforts. Arm in arm with Adriano Furtado—one of Nike’s best art directors—we crafted a campaign to launch the new Flight Ball.

Since Nike only drops a new ball design every 7–8 years, we new this was a chance for maximum impact. To add to the pressure, a pandemic hit and pushed all competitive and professional football from stadiums and pitches around the world. Hopeful for a return, our work focused on the love that football can generate—and how the future of the sport needs every footballer to bring their best to the game.

It’s a truly integrated campaign, with brand-building AV, print, out-of-home, social, digital performance, and a whole pile of other deliverables. I wrote a letter that Cristiano Ronaldo read and posted to the largest Instagram following in the world. Alex Morgan and Sam Kerr posted what I wrote about them. Megan Rapinoe got involved. It’s a dream campaign and I can’t wait to see what we do next.
