Bill Keller, Get Well Soon
Bill Keller’s latest New York Times column, “Heroic Measures,” takes issue with the way a woman is having cancer. She needs to die like his old father-in-law once did—“humane and honorable”—not fighting endlessly with various treatments and talking about it on the internet. See, Lisa Adams writes about her fight with cancer on Twitter, where she has 8,400 followers. For this terrible crime, Adams must be subjected to condescension not only from Bill, but his wife Emma, who went after Adams earlier in The Guardian.
A one-two punch in two of earth’s most respected newspapers from the Keller family to confront the incredible outrage a woman talking about her own life. It’s sick.
