Wolverine has long struggled to balance his many sides: human, mutant, raging beast. In Marvel’s upcoming Wolverine: The Long Night, a drama podcast premiering next month on Stitcher, he seems to be almost a myth — a sort of local, shorter Sasquatch.

The Long Night is Marvel’s first foray into podcasting, and an interesting expansion of the medium, bringing ideas and storytelling techniques from the Golden Age of radio, where Superman and Popeye and other heroes of the day could have adventures in non-comics media before the advent and popularization of television.

Wolverine will be voiced by actor Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), in a story set in Burns, Alaska. Logan, suffering from one of his chronic bouts of amnesia, is the prime suspect when a vicious, animal-like serial killer terrorizes the community. He is tasked with clearing his name and bringing the murderer to justice, and he will have to work with FBI agents Sally Pierce (Celia Keenan-Bolger) and Tad Marshall (Ato Essandoh). This will undoubtedly prove difficult until he can convince them that he’s not the killer.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming podcast below.

Wolverine: The Long Night will debut exclusively on Stitcher Premium on March 12, and will be available on other podcasting platforms later this year. The series is written by Ben Percy (Green Arrow), and directed by Brendan Baker.
