Part 3: The Renaissance

Now we’re here. The renaissance of Risinger Design. We’ve sort of skipped ahead a few years.. no need to revisit the pain of sophomore year and the creative fire that has been absent for some time. None of that matters now though, we’re back baby! Yes! USC offers new opportunities, the ability to have my work seen, heard, and critiqued! I’ll finally be creating for millions of fans and hitting my stride and totally loving my — oop, global pandemic. Time to go home. Sorry, freshman year was only 10 weeks for you. Hope you ate the stale EVK pizza to get the full USC experience.

Well, now we finished your freshman year back where it all started… your childhood bedroom? Certainly an avant-garde way to wrap up the first year of the rest of your life. Take some solace though, you have new opportunities on the horizon. A new job, a new volunteer position where you hold the power to change things, and, perhaps most of all, working on designs with your dog laying next to you. The next 9 months won’t be easy, but you’ll be with those you love and be creating work that makes an impact. You helped defeat a fascist, have had your work on countless news sites, and are in a much better work environment now. Life is on the up. You’re creating daily, have rekindled your tinder, and see the future as ripe with opportunity. Let’s just hope you get to go back soon. We can hold on to hope, but at some point, reality sets in. Your experience is being robbed, life isn’t so easy, and we aren’t handling it so well. But we’re still fighting, and that’s what matters. We’re still showing up.
