The Siren Song

Photo by Faye Cornish on Unsplash

The wave
takes you
and rolls you
on the bottom
of the ocean.
Overwhelmed.
Sand and rocks
in your swimsuit
and hair.
Rough ride
to the shore.
Not sure
you can breathe.
But the wave
deposits you
safely onshore.
Shaken and sore
you go back out
for more.
