A Spring Walk with My Daughter: A Heartwarming Story

Join me as I share a heartwarming and humorous memory of a springtime walk with my young daughter. This story captures the innocence and curiosity of childhood, and the special bond between a father and his daughter.

WALK IN THE SPRING
My daughter is now twelve
but I have a story
from when she was three.
Might embarrass her,
probably not.
This is the girl, after all,
who at nine told me,
“I hear you, but I’m ignoring you.”
(Practicing for her teen years.)

So, after a long winter
spring finally arrived.
We went for a walk.
She couldn’t stop looking around:
“Look, Daddy, pretty flower!”
“Daddy, Daddy, butterflies!”
I’m glad she’s so excited
“A little birdie!”
I start to dream about
camping trips and other…
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!
Hey, where’re you going?!
“I wanna kick it!”
