“A Healthy Dose of Haikus” Collection
By Graham Hartley
Hello friends! Finals have hit hard, but I still wanted to provide a collection for you all. As summer takes hold of the Northern Hemisphere, the world explodes into a multitude of colors. Life lifts its voice to the world once again as we are bathed in heat. In honor of this, I put together a list of Haikus to celebrate nature and the queerness found within. These pieces do not have titles, but I hope you enjoy all that which the world can offer.
Dawn-born light shimmers
Earth’s habitual heat hugs
Thermal blanket thaws
Rapids rock and roll
Waterfalls crash down; they breathe
Life’s locomotion
An oxygen breeze
Walking with waltzing wind weaves
Giving the leaves voice
Seasonal saplings
Photosynthesis provides
Inhale then exhale
Flames rise; phoenix flies
Secondary succession
Rejuvenation
Rain-shadow effect
Mountain pierced sky separates
Desert creation
Pollination grows
Odd onomatopoeia
They tickle my nose
Welcoming wild spring
Biodiversity’s gift
Kaleidoscope souls
The queer agenda
They cower from Humpback pride
Life welcomes all love
Jack-in-the-Pulpit
Their sex fluid like water
Life welcomes all love
