Money Saving Hacks!
If you’re like me and don’t have a ton of extra money to blow, but still want to live your best life, here are 5 tips on how to save money while treating yourself!
- Target. Who doesn’t love Target? You’re lying if you said no. But here’s the thing. The clearance items. I feel like I see people tricked by the clearance tag more often than not. And you usually are only saving a few cents. That’s not a clearance! That’s a sale. BUT! If you look at the original price and see the clearance price ending in an 8, that means the price is going to be dropped again! If it ends in a 4, that means that is the final price. 2. Use things already in your pantry or storage closet for other things! Such as:
- Olive or coconut oil for removing makeup / moisturizing! Why go spend extra money on makeup removers when you can just go into your kitchen and grab something you already have? Sometimes I even put coconut oil in my hair. It is great for your hair AND smells wonderful. I love smelling like I’m at the beach when it’s snowing out. Win-win!
- Forget dryer sheets. I have really sensitive skin and feel like some of them give me a rash, anyway. Instead, use something you once again already have in your kitchen: aluminum foil! Ball some up, throw it in, and use it over and over!
3. Travel! Be wary of flight sales. The Tuesday 6 weeks before you are supposed to leave is generally the best time to buy. IF you can, fly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Those will be the cheapest!
4. While we’re talking travel, check out AirBnB instead of hotels. Often, for the same price of a hotel (or even cheaper), you can rent out an entire apartment in the city you’re visiting. It makes for a cheaper experience if you are cooking in a kitchen instead of buying every meal out.
5. Finally: give yourself a money challenge. I’m going to go with this one this year: the dime challenge. Get a 2 liter bottle and fill it to the brim with your spare dimes! When it’s totally full, you should have about $500. When you use it at Target, though, make sure to check those clearance tags! ;)
