Poetry for Pride — Pride Month Collection
By Graham Hartley
Happy Pride month my friends!! I wanted to put a fun little collection together that celebrates different queer groups in honor of this exciting month. Pride month is about celebrating acceptance and love, so these poems were a lot of fun for me to write! There is a poem about transgender love, one about nonbinary love and many more! I hope you all enjoy it! Love you all!
to all of the Roy’s
Rainbows run rancid raring results
Oceans of outlandish others offbeat
You yelp you’re yank you yearn
Given gifts guessed gaunt
Be bared but beaten
Isolated
Vivid victimization varies
Ode to the Roy’s of the world.
We still have yet to welcome thee.
Be proud.
Be strong.
Be safe.
You are loved.
M/M
To wish upon a twinkling star,
For a life so free,
An expressive repertoire.
To find respite in a bear’s den,
Asleep we lay, with cub and men.
We drag out our queens,
We play the game well.
Win by any means,
Our true souls now dwell.
F/F
Fragrant hearth by which to sit,
The meadow’s warm and purple tint
Breeze waltz with bees
Halts the movement of the world.
Stop, yield, praise
Give reverence.
Lavender Menace.
Poly Farewells
Goodbye to limits,
Though they might not hold you back.
Goodbye to the once devoid
For they cover what you lack.
Goodbye to solidarity
Welcome to the pack.
Love who you love
Two can harmonize,
But more conducts sparks,
They galvanize.
Metamorphosis
Green spiky crawl
Among wooden snakes
Hanging on life’s thread
Cocooned and cushioned
New soul found overhead
Breaking the mold
We see you
Be bold.
Your wings emerge
On freedom you splurge.
Morphed, a new urge.
You’re seen.
Ace of Hearts
Fear of intimacy?
Celibacy?
Words misused.
A world of love awaits,
For those who understand themselves.
Attraction:
Intellectual,
Emotional,
Romantic.
Absent Interest,
A choice made,
Love is love,
No gender forbade.
Genderflux
Sun or moon,
You hold no label.
Man or women,
You transcend.
Pink or blue,
Does not define
Prism,
Kaleidoscope,
Rainbow,
Alive.
Just as the tide pulls,
And energy flows
And flux.
You sway with the spectrum.
Chosen
To find love
Ocean’s dove
The original list defy
From sea to sky,
From heart to soul,
To be chosen bi one is lucky.
For out of every fish or bird
That pans across the world
They chose you.
