Either I’m just becoming a cranky old (I am) or every year New York Comic Con gets more crowded. It’s super sweaty and nearly impossible to move around.

But it’s still a lot of fun.

Photographing cosplayers is as fun as photographing drag queens — beautiful people in beautiful outfits, who want to have their photo taken. I always keep an eye out for the best queer and gender-bending cosplayers because, well, duh.

And I’ve been going to NYCC for 10+ years now and this was my first time doing cosplay (although it was more low-key kinda cosplay). SO, here are some of the best queer and gender-bent cosplay I saw at NYCC.

The Young Avengers (with two Kate Bishops), who are one of the queerest (aka best) teams in the Marvel Universe.
This super handsome Gaston and Prince Eric Disney couple.
All the Jubilees!
Loki and Kate Bishop snapping a selfie!
An awesome Final Fantasy/Sailor Moon mashup!
Nancy Downs from The Craft! I nearly yelped when I saw her — what gay boy from the 90s who also went to Warped Tour didn’t love The Craft?
Some Archer action! Look at that perfect Mallory Archer drag!
::emoji eyes:: a really great Phoenix Five Namor
This lady Doctor Strange is quite badass!
Gender-bending cosplay at its best!
Boy Tina Belcher giving A+ Tina face.
Scary Pennywise is scary and serving.
Another Sailor Moon mashup — this time with the Power Rangers!
Lara Croft aka Tomb Raider aka this writer’s new crush.
Dazzled by this boy Dazzler (I know I know, I’m sorry).
This Rita Repulsa from the new Powers Rangers movie is ON POINT.
Gender Bending the cult classic The Warriors! These ladies were so friendly and awesome!
And the backs of their jackets — their outfits were so freakin’ badass!
Darlene from Mr. Robot!
