Teamspeak Guidelines & Basic Manners

I thought I’d put together this list to get some points across to people that seem to have less-than average teamspeak etiquette.

These guidelines apply to everyone, including VIPs, moderators, and all admins.

Basic guidelines

  1. Please, please, PLEASE do not AFK in the Home channel. You’ll be automatically moved to AFK after a minute, anyway.
  2. Don’t spam someone with pokes or messages. If you are being spammed with pokes or messages, you can ask any VIP+ user to assign you the poke/message blocked groups.
  3. Unless invited or expected, don’t join someone else’s private channel, especially if they appear to be AFK. This includes the CS:GO Competitive channel as well.
  4. Impersonation isn’t allowed. Don’t pretend to be someone else, or pretend you’re someone that you’re not.
  5. The use of inappropriate usernames is not allowed. A username can be deemed “inappropriate” at the discretion of an admin.
  6. Voice changers/soundboards are allowed with permission only.
  7. The use of a VPN (Virtual Private Network) isn’t allowed under any circumstances. If you think your situation permits the use of one, ask an admin first.
  8. Evading a ban by using a different identity, IP address, or VPN is not allowed.
  9. If you own a private channel, you must put your name in the “Topic” section of your channel.
  10. Generic user names such as “iOS_Client” are not allowed, please rename yourself to something more distinguishable.
  11. Harassing/bullying other users on teamspeak is not tolerated and consequences will be applied accordingly.
  12. Users are not allowed to display avatars containing pornographic/NSFW/gore content.
  13. Finding loopholes in the permission system won’t go unpunished.

Admins have the right to kick and/or ban any user for any reason. However, moderators must have a valid reason for punishment.

Frequently asked questions

How can I get Twitch/YouTube rank?

To receive a rank for your Twitch or YouTube channel, message an admin with the link to your channel(s) for review.

How can I get VIP or a higher server group?

In the past, users have received VIP by being an active, friendly user of the teamspeak server, however, some users have written 3 page MLA-format essays to receive the rank, so if you’d like to try that go right ahead. Moderators are chosen from active members of the server (usually existing VIPs but not always). There currently is not a way to apply for moderator or admin.

Can I have my own private channel?

If you are an active user of the server, most likely. Just message an admin to ask. In the meantime, you can always create a temporary channel.

Can you move my channel higher up in the server? My friends can never find me!

If your friends are not willing to scroll down to look for you, they aren’t your friends.

Can I invite my friends to use the teamspeak server?

Yes, as long as they abide by these guidelines.

But Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaatt I want a special server group for myself!!!!1111111
