There’s Something to be Thankful for

It’s that time of year again!

The time that we in the USA call Thanksgiving. I feel compelled to put in writing some of my thoughts and feelings about gratitude and how practicing it every day can make our lives better.

In our day and time, it is easy to get depressed and despondent.

You might ask yourself, “What do I have to be depressed and despondent about?”

One thing that I struggle with each day is the crippling division between individuals and groups in this country and the world at large.

We can all agree that things are bad and that someone ‘other’ than ourselves is to blame.

We are so busy playing the blame game, we forget to consider how much we have in common and take time to give thanks for our common ground.

NATURE

We are all blessed with the beauty of nature all around us every day. If we truly see and appreciate it, we can make the care and preservation of nature a common goal.

Our frustration levels would decrease and our hope would be boosted.

COLORS

Look at the next rainbow 🌈 that appears in the sky unsummoned and free of charge.

Consider that every hue in the rainbow surrounds us every day and changes constantly as the seasons come and go.

So much beauty surrounds us daily.

Join me in writing a list of things to give thanks 🙏 for.

Let’s practice being thankful for the rest of 2023, and see how much difference it makes in how we face each new day.
