From age 13 to age 25, I played football. From age 25 to the present, there are some days when walking more than twenty-five feet without assistance is a challenge. Get out of bed in a hurry, and you run the risk of falling over.

Those are all quality-of-life issues when compared to what you could do in your early twenties. If you want to pick up a child or grandchild, you run the risk of being laid up for a few days.

ANSWER, DESIGN A NEW QUALITY LIFE

If you’re not suffering from a back injury, maybe it’s severe headaches. Some days are good, some days not so bad, then be more spontaneous. Always be ready to do something when you’re willing to drop everything and go.

What about those confined to a wheelchair? Pick the things you CAN do, and always be on the lookout for what you can do that you want to do.

Start with a blank piece of paper and decide what your quality of life is going to be and who you want to spend it with.
