The MAUVSA Cabinet Part 2

Continuing with the theme of the previous post, today you’ll meet two bright, young individuals that are ready to help raise MAUVSA to new heights. Meet Laura Phan, the MAUVSA Public Relations/Marketing Chair, and Hao Nguyen, the newest addition to the MAUVSA Tech Team.

Name: Laura Phan

School: University of Maryland, Baltimore County ‘17

Major: Health Administration

What is your previous/current VSA experience?

VSA Treasurer (‘14-15) and External VP (‘15–16). I also want to say ‘ve never missed a VSA meeting ever since my first one in freshman year. #Dedicated

Why did you want to get involved with MAUVSA?

I wanted to connect with more schools after my term as EVP as well as learn how MAUVSA did their thang from the inside.

What impact did MAUVSA have on you? Favorite memory?

MAUVSA introduced me to a bunch of amazing friends! My favorite memory is spending time with my family at MACV.

What do you want to take away from this year?

I want to be able to get everyone more interested in going to events that aren’t their own. It’s the best way to make friends from other schools!

What do you like to do on your free time?

I like to watch Korean dramas and anime while eating Taco Bell and donuts.

What’s your favorite Vietnamese food?

Goi cuon (summer rolls).

Your future aspirations?

I aspire to perspire to inspire. (I sweat a lot)

Major: Computer Science

What is your previous/current VSA experience?

UMCP VSA Magazine Director.

Why did you want to get involved with MAUVSA?

To learn new things and to contribute to other VSAs.

What impact did MAUVSA have on you? Favorite memory?

MAUVSA Advance Conference V. Met awesome people and made new friends.

What do you want to take away from this year?

How all VSAs work together for a common goal.

What do you like to do on your free time?

Play FIFA, soccer, ride my bike.

What’s your favorite Vietnamese food?

Com tam dac biet.

Your future aspirations?

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was.
