We are thrilled to welcome Veronica Reaves and Jerry Lu to Maveron! Veronica and Jerry will be joining us in San Francisco where they will be responsible for sourcing new investments, supporting our existing portfolio, and fostering the broader Maveron community.

By running an extensive, equitable and rigorous senior associate process that yielded hundreds of talented candidates, we are fully confident that the addition of Veronica and Jerry will enrich the voices around the table to make us better decision makers and investors.

Veronica joins us after spending time at Spero Ventures, Kapor Capital, and Impact America Fund as a venture fellow all while completing her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management. Watching her mother go through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship instilled in Veronica a strong sense of empathy, an incredible hustle, and a passion for business from her earliest years. As a management consultant at Deloitte, she launched initiatives to support social entrepreneurs. Her passion for helping entrepreneurs succeed led her to move to Mauritius to help launch the edtech startup, African Leadership University, named one of Africa’s most innovative companies by Fast Company in 2016.
Jerry Lu joins us from Advancit Capital where he invested at the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology. Jerry’s genuine curiosity for consumer businesses and emerging trends, paired with his engineering background as a data scientist at Google and Youtube, and an MBA at Wharton make him a rare, versatile gem. Jerry has a close pulse on the evolving landscape of ecommerce, the future of social, and changing consumer behaviors that he writes about in his newsletter. Jerry has straddled multiple cultures his whole life, and brings a deep appreciation for people, the way they live, and what they want in the applications and products around them.
