Funko Fusion reveal Trailer and Villain: An Exciting Dive into Pop Culture Chaos
10:10 Games has just released the story trailer for “Funko Fusion”, their first-ever console video game, introducing fans to a wild new adventure set to launch on September 13 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions following on November 15.
This highly anticipated game, a love letter to Funko’s extensive series of collectibles, promises to bring over 60 playable characters from various beloved franchises into one chaotic and thrilling experience.
Meet Eddy Funko: The Dark Reflection of Freddy
The highlight of the new trailer is the introduction of the game’s primary antagonist, Eddy Funko.
Voiced by the legendary Clancy Brown, known for his roles in “The Shawshank Redemption,” “Highlander,” and “Invincible,” Eddy is depicted as a “deeply twisted and immensely powerful shapeshifting counterpart” to Funko’s mascot, Freddy Funko.
In the trailer, Eddy menacingly declares, “Your worlds will fall. Your people will suffer. And I will have infinite power!”
The Story Unfolds
Eddy Funko, armed with the dark ability to possess inhabitants of Funko Fusion’s pop culture-inspired worlds, sets out on a quest for total domination.
His power allows him to corrupt characters from iconic franchises such as “Jurassic World,” “Back to the Future,” “The Thing,” “Chucky,” and more.
Players must rally their own team of Funko heroes, each equipped with unique tools for combat and puzzle-solving, to stop Eddy’s sinister plans.
A Star-Studded Cast and Creative Team
The excitement doesn’t stop at Eddy’s introduction. The Funko Fusion panel at San Diego Comic-Con featured key figures behind the game, including Jon Burton, CEO and founder of 10:10 Games, and Jason Bischoff, Funko’s VP of licensing and business development.
The panel also included Ian Cooper from Monkeypaw Productions and Kellen Goff, who reprises his role as Freddy Fazbear from “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
Kellen Goff shared his enthusiasm stating, “I’ve been lucky to play various versions of the bear for 8 years, but my take on the original Freddy Fazbear has never seen the light of day until now. I’m positively excited and grateful to finally have the chance to give voice to Freddy Fazbear, thanks to Funko Fusion.”
Exclusive Sneak Peeks and Special Guests
Comic-Con attendees were treated to exclusive previews, including content inspired by Jordan Peele’s productions, shared by Ian Cooper.
Additionally, surprise guest Robert Kirkman, the mind behind “Invincible” and “The Walking Dead,” revealed a sneak peek of Funko Fusion’s Invincible characters.
Fans got a glimpse of playable characters like Invincible, Omni-Man, Rick Grimes, and Michonne, with the latter two featured as preorder bonuses in the game’s Walking Dead Pack.
Collectibles and In-Game Bonuses
To celebrate the game’s launch, Funko also announced a new line of Funko Fusion Funko Pop! figures.
These collectibles, including characters like Eddy and Mecha Freddy, come with special in-game costumes unlocked via codes included in the boxes.
