Flouncing and Renouncing

It is a year or so since two of its priesthood publicly renounced the Alexandrian Craft, and while this was regretful, it was not entirely unexpected. Personally I believe ‘once a priest always a priest’.
The priest had been an excellent ritualist and at one time a brilliant teacher. The common enemy, ego, became his master and with the help of a dangerous drug habit, he became the victim of diabetes and flights of vicious fantasy; his students suffered, and he point blank refused help. His renunciation came as no surprise and was welcomed, and yet, it was sad.
The second waiver came from a priestess who flounced into renouncing the Craft for the second time in a successful quest to appear a victim and heroine. Serious initiates do not treat their craft as a revolving door. There had been questions as to the actuality of her South African Initiation, her next Initiation into Alexandrian Craft was without training, and there were doubts regarding her Initiator’s own initiation; this was her reason for wanting re-initiation, to gain legitimate lineage.
She made the mistake of speaking with another Alexandrian about her real motives for her request, they were not honourable, she belittled her own initiates and those who trusted her, making us appreciate her decision if not her duplicity.
She was successful in achieving massive sympathy and public acclaim; she continues in her narcissistic self-promotion, maintaining her self-imposed victim status.
The point of the matter is, after a year and a day, her renunciation is as light as thistledown, gone with the wind, and the Tradition’s blessings.
