Maxwell Bond raises £1270 for Meningitis Now and Alzheimer’s Society
Maxwell Bond, a Manchester based technology and digital recruitment consultancy, recently raised £1270 for Meningitis Now and Alzheimer’s Society, two charities that were chosen by employees Riana Butler and Jake Adshead. Meningitis Now were really happy with the donation, “Congratulations, and thank you so much for your support!”
The fundraiser was hosted to raise money for Meningitis Now and Alzheimer’s Society, charities which mean a lot to both Riana and Jake especially. The fundraiser saw the Maxwell Bond team take part in a sponsored fun run/walk on the 23rd and 24th March, as well as a Give it Up challenge for March. Riana Butler commented “it was great to be able to suggest a charity that really means something to me. My friend’s daughter passed away from Meningitis, so this charity is very close to my heart. This money will go towards the foundation set up in her memory which supports families facing the same challenges. It’s amazing that we raised so much money.”
The sponsored fun run/ walk saw team members cover a distance of over 100km, whilst some team members sacrificed chocolate, alcohol, coffee, and smoking. Participants collected sponsorship money and contributed their own savings from their give it up challenge into the charity pot, finishing March with a massive total of £1270. Alzheimer’s society thanked the team for their support, describing the efforts as “amazing!” Founder and Director Steven Jagger states “I’m overwhelmed by how much money we could raise in a single month. It’s great to see what we’ve achieved as a team and to know what a difference that money will make to these really important causes.”
The amount was split between the Layla-Rose Foundation (Meningitis Now) and Alzheimer’s Society. Maxwell Bond will also be supporting Forever Manchester, Kidney Research UK, Endometriosis UK, Child Autism UK, Cash for Kids and more throughout the remainder of the year.
