Transportation in cities is a challenge — while most people drive or use public transportation, these methods have been challenged by new ways for people to get to their final destination and beyond: cars on demand, ride-sharing, biking and even scooters. All of these new forms of mobility have generally led to increased congestion on sidewalks, in bike lanes and on streets, making trips longer for everyone.

Helping to connect to final destinations, or “the last mile,” is where May Mobility can help forward thinking cities provide their citizens with secure, reliable and shared mobility with a personal feel. This manner can help reduce congestion, improve access to transportation and generally improve people’s ability to access and enjoy the community where they live and work.

Columbus is a good example. In 2016, Columbus was awarded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Smart City. They have used the momentum from that grant to study their community needs: from education to transportation, and identified their goals to improve mobility for their residents.

Today, we’re announcing a new public, private partnership bringing May Mobility’s self driving shuttles to the downtown district. Free to the public, 7 days/week, the 3 mile loop will bring people to shopping, businesses and local points of interest.

Our approach is unique among self-driving vehicle companies, in that we focus directly on the needs of the communities with which we partner, and make sure we are providing a service that helps them to meet their goals. Our reliable, low speed self-driving mobility service has proven to be the perfect offering to help bring communities along for this new mobility adventure to the future.

May Mobility is reimagining mobility in cities and communities by building self-driving transportation systems that are safe, reliable, and personal. This approach makes us a trusted partner and accelerates our path toward our goal of helping everyone drive less and live more.

I love dreaming up new ideas, and have the unique bent where I can set the course of action in place to see them to reality- applying that to art and AVs.
