An Ode to Maggi

My mouth waters

My heart pounds

Your golden curls glimmer in the moonlight

I know you will taste just right

Since childhood, you’ve been the only one for me

You kept me safe with your warm embrace

And now as the water boils

My evening is saved from all potential foils

The bubbles begin to burst

My soul does as well

Gingerly, I remove your yellow wrapper

Excited for what will come after

In two minutes, each of your angelic strands soften

Welcoming the magic dust from above

As I stir in the magic masala

I find myself wanting anotha

Your spicy scent wafts my way

I slurp

I savor

Your lead-laced flavor

Within minutes, the pot is empty

Each delicious noodle consumed

All that remains is an oily residue

And a very strong urge to poo
