The 12 Week Blockchain Venture MBA
Hi and welcome again to #MBA_Fridays, readers of our last published story have reacted with it in a way which is quite interactive, as some have taken some actions on the ground regarding our suggestions and recommendations.
For those who wants to be well aware and educated about blockchain, this article is for you. It is a comprehensive curated list of resources for a full fledged education and practical insights into the field.
We divided it into weeks (though you may cover a week in a day, according to your time), schedule it the way that best suits you.
Lay your back, bring your favorite beverage, pull a notebook and a pen, and start your journey.
Week 1: Introduction
Most of us have heard the name “Satoshi Nakamoto”, while nobody knows who is she/he or they are, a white paper published under his name introducing Bitcoin to the world, and it was the first time that cryptography, computing, and economics were put together in a conceptual way as it was introduced in Satoshi’s white paper.
His white paper was an effort to find a new way of electronic cash system after the global financial crisis of 2007.
Now what is decentralization which is the basic foundation for almost all blockchain projects and applications, Andrew Keys from Consensys discusses the areas and causes of centralization, and how blockchain can change this, as well as discussing Ethereum as an opportunity for interaction on the blockchain.
Jessy Grushak of Ujo in his article Welcome Web 3.0 discusses the problem of users being the product of the advertisers and introducing Ethereum as a solution for this problem.
Ethereum is regarded as the next generation of blockchain with applications and products being developed on top of it to tackle every aspect of our lives.
Week 2: Technicals
To know more about Public and Private keys and their use in the blockchain, this article draws it a concise way.
Now that we know about Public-Private keys we need to know about Hashing.
A good visual explanation of hashing was created by Yunyun Chen of Consensys.
As well as how hashing integrates with cryptography.
Further, Vitalik Buterin founder of ethereum explains the difference between ethereum and bitcoin.
Week 3: Blockchain Applied
Consortium and Interoperability are essential to make a blockchain works, an article by R. Tyler Smith delves into the difference between pubic and private blockchains and what problems does each one solves through consortium and consensus.
Paul Kohlhas discusses Web 3.0 as Internet of Blockchains in his article.
The goal is to provide more interoperability, analogous to the internet in the sense that it s a network of networks.
Whether to use a blockchain or not is a matter of passing a list of factors before deciding to consider blockchain or not, this article lists them.
Now we have to take a look at some topics addressing the implications of blockchain on businesses, those topics are:
Content Addressing
Public Key Cryptography (We visited it earlier)
Distributed Hash Table
Peer to Peer Network

Week 4: Extended Topics
Now lets take it further with more topics
Cryptocurrency Tokens

Bitcoin and Ethereum
Smart Contracts
Week 5: Use Cases

Week 6: Economics
Economics
We can’t study technology in isolation of businesses and politics, and both orbit Economics, which is the main driver behind almost everything in life, human interactions and dynamics, social & psychological, and even the entire universe itself is an economic model in some sense.
