In business, individuals have to be productive and in total control of what they feel. Showing emotions can be seen as a sign of weakness. Indeed, it is a construction that is realized from childhood when they are taught to erase the representation of negative emotions. For example, adults learn children not to cry or not to show that they are afraid to help them to obtain a dominant status. They also know that being too happy and too euphoric can be representative of a lack of seriousness.

This internalization of emotions is reflected in adulthood, in the world of work: you have to be strong, stress resistant, and not demonstrative of your feelings.

Nevertheless a paradox subsists, who has ever dreamed of knowing others’ thoughts ?

Neuroscience distinguishes the left brain — that of the professional efficiency — and the right brain — that of the emotions: what if we combined the two to allow a maximum productivity? If all these thoughts were visible to our human resources, what would happen?

Fictional use of microchip implants

Imagine a world where a microchip implant will transcribe your emotions, feelings and thoughts on a dashboard ; and now imagine a company where what every employee has in mind is visible to the management board.

This is the concept we propose !

What is the objective ?

To know employees’ feelings in order to provide them the resources and support they need to be at the top of their productivity.

It sounds to be a real management advance !

How does it work ?

An electronic chip is implanted in each employee’s hand to measure the following:

  • Emotions: stress, joy, fear, sadness, anger, etc.
  • Physiological needs: fatigue, hunger, thirst, etc.
  • Feeled about work: responsiveness, productivity, weariness, etc.

All these emotions are represented on a dashboard, accessible to managers to ensure surveillance and created a link with employees.

This little chip could help employees :

  • To feel understood and treated consequently ;
  • To facilitate relationships ;
  • To erase negative aspects of work.

What are the benefits ?

A state of negative stress is not necessarily visible from the outside. Managers can see the gauges of their employees evolve in real time on a huge dashboard. They can therefore consult it daily the to be able to adapt the management according to the emotions and thoughts of their employees. No one had secrets for them.

When a manager sees on the dashboard that an employee is sad and unmotivated he can prevent productivity from falling by deciding to discuss with the employee to understand the reasons.

Do you still want to know others’ thoughts ?

Would you accept this electronic chip in your hand ?
