7 Marketing Ps

New P: Purple Cow

When you first see many many cows when you drive past you might go “Wow”
after 30 mins you don’t care even if they have great personalities

BUT a purple cow you might care again (for a while)
- it needs to be Remarkable

Only 4 types of people:
Prospects
Customers
Loyal Customers
Former Customers

I unfortunately lost my notes, as I was taking the notes whilst camping without internet connection and apparently Evernote didn’t sync them :(

Here is the quick summary from memory.

Traditional advertising used to work for all the companies who invented new products and were the first incumbents in the given markets.

Now — there is just too many companies who do exactly the same.

In order to stand out you need to be REMARKABLE.

Being remarkable can be achieved by:

  • questioning why things are done the way there are done
  • think outside the box — make it different
  • be bold, not cautious — take the risk, otherwise you will be just another one of the boring solutions
  • don’t invest $ into traditional marketing, rather invest in innovation (product, design, experience) to make your product remarkable and get people to talk about you.

Be the Purple Cow, who stands out and is different.
