Magical fantasy trilogy about a wet boy (the magical equivalent of an assassin). The main character, Azoth/Kylar, is instantly relatable and develops as a character throughout. The books have a great new take on how magic works and political affairs.
A couple of my favourite quotes from the books:
My world isn’t cut into black and white, right and wrong, Kylar. Yours shouldn’t be either. Our world only has better and worse, shadows lighter and darker.
Sometimes people shouldn’t get what they deserve. If there isn’t more in the world than justice, it’s all for nothing.
