The deadline for applications is now MAY 9. See below for details.

As we wrap up our 2013–2014 year and put the finishing touches on our final issue, our editors Jennifer Cheng and Jessica Galang are preparing to graduate and will be vacating their posts at the end of the month. McClung’s is looking for a new pair of co-editors-in-chief for 2014–2015.

The Co-Editors-In-Chief are in charge of the entire operation of production of the magazine. Responsibilities include:

Hiring individuals for the 2014–2015 masthead.

Coordinating editorial and art meetings.

Creating, managing and balancing the magazine’s budget.

Managing the magazine’s masthead.

Overseeing and managing the editorial and art direction of the magazine.

Setting and keeping track of deadlines.

Being able to play multiple masthead roles in case things fall through.

Applicants must be in their fourth or final year going into the fall 2014 semester. Ideal candidates should be organized, have a good eye for detail and time management; an understanding and respect for journalistic ethics and the ability to problem solve; strong writing and editing skills. They should also be prepared to work with and mentor fellow students.

If you’re interested in the job, please send a resume (including a list of all relevant courses taken to date and courses planned), your application and 3–5 samples of your writing to mcclungsonline@gmail.com by May 9 . All interviews will be held in May so anyone who will be out of town after the deadline should apply early. The new editors will be announced by mid or late May and will take over in June/July.

It’s a lot of work but it’s satisfying, so if you’re up to it we want to hear from you. Good luck! M
