Technology has changed the way we are able to connect and communicate with others. The greater use of smart phones have given us a way to get to know individuals before we even meet. Dating apps also allow users to easily access and choose partners. There are so many ways how technology advanced the way we are able to find a potential partner.

Choice

There are countless dating websites and apps such as Tinder, Okcupid, and Coffee Meets Bagel. There are apps specifically for the LGBT community including: Grindr, Jack’D, Wapa and so much more. These apps give us the choice to find matches with a swipe or a tap of a button. If someone doesn’t like you then on to the next one. You are able to talk to as many people as you want as long as you have matches. There is no limit to one especially if you have so many choices. There’s plenty of fish in the sea and you can catch as many fish as you want until you find the right one!

Convenience

These technologies enabled users to spend as little time as possible looking for someone. Dating and finding someone can be at your convenience and in an efficient way. Can this be seen as a bad thing? Maybe! However, what if the love of your life is somewhere across the globe and you won’t know it unless you use the app? It is quick and easy to scan what you are looking for in a potential partner.

Endless Possibilities

Whether you are looking for a hookup, a casual relationship, or a serious relationship you can find out before even meeting the person! Finding the perfect partner isn’t easy but the Internet has enabled you to have endless possibilities of people at your fingertips. You can find someone around your area that is looking for the similar motives as you. The world has become your playground for dates, hookups and long-term relationships.

Conclusion

Many have mixed emotions about dating apps. To me it isn’t really online dating, but it’s meeting people online with the potential for dating. The way you choose to use these apps and services is up to you and is only beneficial if you want to use it or not. If someone who has no interest in serious dating and just want to find people to hook up with, online is a much better way to accomplish that. The device is in your hands.
