Make Plans To Visit Talladega Super speedway
If you love motorsports, some locations are legendary. We’re lucky to live close to one right here in Alabama. If you haven’t made it over before, you should definitely check out Talledega Superspeedway.
Tours
If you want to get your fix when it isn’t race weekend, you can take a tour of the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame any day. They’re open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, except a few holidays. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for students.
You can also tour the Talladega Superspeedway track. That tour is $8 for adults and $5 for students. You can get a combination ticket for $16 for adults or $8 for students.
For the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, you should expect to spend between one and three hours touring the exhibits. You can take your time seeing three exhibit halls and a pavilion area. You’ll learn so much about the history of motorsports.
For the Talladega Superspeedway tour, you’ll board a 12 passenger van. This tour will be guided by the van driver who will show you all the sights on the famous racetrack. This tour lasts about 20 minutes. The tours are available every half hour between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Events
The spring race season is coming up soon. The weekend of April 26 will have three different races for fans to enjoy Friday night, April 26, the General Tire 200 will start at 5 p.m. Then the MoneyLion 300 will be Saturday, April 27 at noon. The weekend will finish with the big race, the Geico 500. That race will be Sunday, April 28, at 1 p.m. Look online for tickets and travel packages.
Before the big race weekend, you can visit Talladega Superspeedway for the Wild Game Cook-Off. Head there on Saturday, March 9, to sample some of Alabama’s best wild game. Tickets are $40 per person and will benefit the Alabama Wildlife Federation.
