Take The Kids To Gross Out Camp

If there’s one thing that’s virtually universal among kids, it’s that they are fascinated by things that their adult counterparts generally find, well, icky. But when it comes to all things sticky, gooey, smelly, slimy, dirty, and creepy-crawly, kids are all in. That’s the inspiration behind Fresh Air Family’s Gross Out Camp, a unique, child-friendly science camp that teaches kids some of the down-and-dirty details of the world around them. Week-long sessions are ongoing all summer, so sign your camper up now!

Sneaky Science

Gross Out Camp is educational to be sure, but your kids don’t have to know that. They’ll have so much fun digging in the dirt, excavating worms, and exploring creek beds that they’ll never guess they’re absorbing some serious science. In fact, the camps are designed to help your little learner engage in biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, and environmental science all without sacrificing an ounce of fun. After all, any camp that offers highlights like roly poly races and live animal shows is not likely to be mistaken for the classroom.

Gross Out Camps Near You

Sessions are available throughout the summer at several locations throughout Alabama. Make sure you make room in your summer schedule for one of these exciting, fun, and just a little yucky camps.

• Vulcan Park and Museum — June 10 through June 14; June 24 through June 28; July 15 through July 19
• Trussville Athletic Center — June 10 through June 14; June 24 through June 28; July 8 through July 12

Each session costs $225 for Fresh Air Family members, $250 for non-members. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. For an additional $25, you can add on one hour to the beginning and one hour to the end of each day, making the hours 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
