Week 12: Reflection

Personal reflections

🏁Topic

Each designer is expected to document their ongoing reflections on their design experience in the course. Some questions that inform your personal reflections on course readings and your experience as a designer include the design agility metacognition framework.

One week has passed. We approached our design concept from a different level of MLP. As following, we defined particular goals from the standalone effort (a niche in MLP), the new normal (Regime in MLP), and the societal shift (Landscape in MLP. Then we’ve entered the planning stage to connect those dots.

MLP / product level stage mapping

We decided to proceed with the project at the product level while addressing the structural system. As a result, we were able to narrow down our scope from Digital profiling to Privacy policy that is more directly leading to communication between users and service providers. Currently, most company service providers define their privacy policy, provide service, and obtain consent from users to utilize data. Therefore, we are considering a policy generator that can manage and drive the flow of data from a user’s perspective. As an example of Ocean protocol, in this scenario, individuals create their own privacy conventions, which become a confrontation (comparison?) with the company’s convention. So with suggested data flow structure, users can state their position prior to entering the service.

Personally, I thought that building multiple touchpoints to create a cohesive system might be very difficult, but certainly, it has the potential to deliver a compelling story. It’s still in the early prototyping process, but I’m looking forward to getting feedback from different groups and iterating on it.
