My game “Don’t Burn” is a purely Emergent game where the mechanics of the game stays the same no regardless of how long the game lasts. From the beginning of the game to the end, the game is the same. The only thing that changes is the further you reach in the game, the more damage the pillars of fire will do to you and the healing will be reduced as well to artificially end the game faster if you make mistakes. Eventually the pillars of fire will just kill you outright when you touch it because of the damage that it’s scaled up to.

I may have the axes being thrown have more knock back as the game progresses to push you into the static pillar of fire on the left. There will be no indicator of when the game gets harder, it just gets harder internally and there are no visual queues.
