Progression of “Chickpea & Olive”

For my game, I don’t plan to have defined levels. The difficulty is going to increase as you play it. One main thing that is going to change throughout the whole gameplay is the speed of the character. You are going to run faster and faster.

For a better understanding of what else is going to change as you play it, I’m dividing the experience into 4 “levels” (even though the player is not going to recognize them as levels).

level 1

The drawing above represents how the game starts. You’re the character Chickpea; you have two enemies (a butcher and a fisherman) that run towards you; and you have two items you can collect (beets, that are lives, and avocados, that are points).

level 2

The drawing above represents the second state of the game. You run faster; there’s a new item (the jackfruit, that makes you switch characters to Olive); there’s a new enemy (the hunter).

level 3

The drawing above represents stage 3. Besides what was already added on stage 2, now you run even faster and there are also platforms you can jump on. The enemies start to jump too.

level 4

For the 4th and last stage of the game, you’re at your fastest speed; and the hunters now can shoot bullets at you.
