Roguelight by Daniel Linssen is a ‘rogue-like’ game with some really cool mechanics.

Goals.

Roguelight consists of 25 randomly generated dungeons in which you the character must make it to the deepest levels to find the end.

Obstacles.

The obstacles in Roguelight are what make it such an interesting game to play. As you delve deeper into the dungeons the game gets even darker with a few scattered pockets of light and your own flaming arrows being the only way to light your path. These ‘light’ resources are invaluable as the dark hides monsters and traps as well as valuable currency and health. Your arrows are your primary defense and light resource, but they are very finite.

Rewards.

Oddly enough despite the fact that death sets you back progress wise it rewards you for how far you got with a shop screen. In this shop you can use the spoils you gained during your dungeon diving to upgrade the character and you arrows. This mechanic allows for an easier second (or tenth) run as you are far better equipped for the dangers ahead.
