In “Bayonetta”, the use of sound is very important. The pace of the game is very fast and challenging, so the sound helps the brain to react to things faster, for example, if there is a projectile coming near the player, the sound gets louder and louder, indicating the imminent impact if the player doesn’t get out of the way. Also, the music changes depending on the setting and context of the game. For example, if the player is in a high-speed boss fight, the music will be very fast and energetic; conversely, if the player is in a calm area, the music will be slow and relaxed. This helps to subconsciously put the player in the state of mind the developer wants them to be in while playing a specific part of the game.
