Dining al fresco might sound fancy, but it’s really just another way of saying ‘let’s eat outside!’ Whether you’re planning a lunch at the park or packing a picnic for a day at the beach, food just tastes better outside.

Here are a few simple suggestions from Mealime that make planning your next summer picnic a little more Instagram worthy.

It’s all about the basket.

A woven basket not only looks pretty — it’s multifunctional! While a traditional picnic basket is charming, a woven basket has so many more uses. Perfect for quick trips to the grocery store, the farmers market and to fill with winter items by your front door over the cold months.

Set the blanket like a table.

Just because you’re eating outside, doesn’t mean you have to use disposable everything. Cutlery and plates will elevate your picnic and find their way into the dishwasher when you get home, instead of the park garbage can.

Utilize glass containers.

Invest in glass Tupperware. As more and more people say no to plastic in the kitchen, glass food containers are not only better for the environment and your health, it looks much nicer on a picnic blanket! Mason jars are also great for small items, fruit and homemade lemonade.
