Mean DAO Update — Week 1 (Sep 13–20, 2021)

We just launched, and we are making a concerted effort to keep the community informed on a weekly basis of everything going on with Mean DAO, the Mean Protocol and MeanFi.

Recent Announcements

• We launched the public beta of MeanFi in Solana Mainnet on Friday Sept 17th, 2021. Read the announcement: https://meandao.medium.com/the-mean-protocol-and-meanfi-1fdf625b700e
• Last week we also setup up social accounts like the Discord Community Server, the Medium and Twitter accounts.
• Filled out the draft submission for the Solana Ignition Hackathon.

Upcoming Activities

• Meeting with Kudelsky Security to scope our auditing process for the Mean Protocol.
• Working on developer examples and cleanup for the Mean Protocol in the core repo
• Working on the Decentralized DCA Whitepaper. It’ll be ready soon.
• Updates to the UX of the exchange, to quote source and destination token amounts in the user’s preferred fiats for easier understanding.

Things in the works

• Documentation and readiness for the $MEAN Token Generation event
• Putting together the community incentives program details for testers, early birds, and the retroactive gov token incentive payouts.
• Planning an Ambassador Program with additional benefits and rewards
• A lot of work going into the Block Tempo architecture that will be powering soon the DDCA for on-chain scheduled callbacks.
• Moving Universal Liquidity workloads from the client SDK to the on-chain program, to support easier distribution and better security.

Community

On the operations side of things, we are learning by doing. Running an open-source software community, on the blockchain, through a DAO, with a Governance Token imminent launch, all on Discord is a lot… so we need some help… even getting figuring out how to source the right mods for Discord is a bit of a head twister… but fear not, we are on it, and we rather do it well, than fast. After all, we are only dealing with money, so what can go wrong?
