Monsters down the fjord

Norway is full of trolls,

and I shudder.

Not at the tourist-trap triple-headed toys,

although, on a pensive stroll,

wondered if inane grins sharpen after midnight.

But, giant moments of horror leer

across fjords

at same-frozen enemies

or brothers in mad joy.

Waiting to be released to caper

shaking off fleas with phones and cars

and dance our deserved ending.
