Gran Turismo is the second-best movie I’ve seen in 2023. (See below for the best one). It is the best racing movie I recall ever watching. I was blown away that the movie is based on a true story.
I’m not a gamer, and I’m not into racing, but I’ve watched Gran Turismo twice! I also recommend it to my family and anyone looking for a good movie to watch.
The acting and directing are phenomenal, but it’s the story that captured me. I never knew sim gamers were put on the track with professional race car drivers. How can a simulation game be so real that it makes the gamers serious competition to professional drivers? Mind-blowing! Props to Kaz for designing the Gran Turismo simulation game. I’m glad Jann got to meet his hero.
The strife between Jann and his father is one familiar to many dreamers. I kept wanting Jan’s father to support him, like his mother did. I felt his father wanted the best for him, but it didn’t translate until Jann proved his worth in his father’s eyes. I think about how many parents are like that. They don’t understand the power of passion to pursue your dreams. They want to make sure you can support yourself.
