If you could have any super power, what would it be? We’ve all had that fantasy, perhaps pondering what it would be like to have super-speed, or the ability to fly. DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio is familiar with many super powers, as he manages the adventures of DC’s iconic superhero characters, like Wonder Woman, Superman, and Aquaman, among others. So if given the opportunity, which super power would DiDio choose?

The answer to that question is a matter of record. In a December 2002 “DC in Demand” feature that promoted upcoming DC titles, the comic book showcased at the top of the feature was the first issue of the H-E-R-O series by writer Will Pfeifer and artist Kano; the blurb promised that “In each story, an ordinary person finds a device that grants them super powers.” As part of the promotion, several DC editors and contributors, including DiDio, responded to the question, “If you had a device that gave you super powers, what would they be?”

DiDio’s response: “The power to be in two places at once.”

While the power of bilocation is perhaps not as glamorous as flying or heat vision, given DiDio’s publishing responsibilities, that super power might be helpful to him, and the story possibilities of DiDio having such a super power are interesting to imagine.
