I regularly read articles, stories, books, and papers related to healthcare in the hope of improving my health and that of my family. Sometimes my understanding of the content is incomplete because I forgot high school biology lessons. I don’t know if there is anyone else who also needs a refresher. As a result, I wrote this mini-lesson or a go-to guide describing the composition of a human body from macro to microscopic view.

My purpose here is to give you a big picture. Just click on various terms if you want to explore the topics in-depth.

The human body is composed of 10 major systems.

Think of a business that has various departments with designated functions. These departments could be sales, human resources, manufacturing, research, quality control, accounting, shipping, and receiving. Similarly, our body is organized into various departments or body systems. Each body system has a specific function or a role. There are ten major body systems: skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive.
