CMO’s letter to the community: Being strong is the only choice
Defi Game (Decentralized Finance + Game aka Game-Fi) can no longer be considered “new”. Defi games have been on the market long enough that a lot of people who haven’t invested in any decentralized projects still understand, though not exactly, what a Defi Game is.
There have been Defi Games launched to the market since the day Defi Game projects were born, massively considered a trend, reached the top of the trend, and now, in the eyes of many people, have passed the trend, or simply, are out of time. In terms of game quality, some games are trash, some are playable, and some are too simple with just clicks and clicks. Some games still exist but games making good revenues are rare. The rest are struggling to attract players.
But how many people spend their time playing Defi Game simply because they enjoy them? Or from my personal experience, I have not seen it. Defi Game players today are investors. I’m sure many people will agree with me on that. And if they are called investors, profit is what they want the most.
The current market situation is very bad.
Bad for the crypto market in general.
Bad for Defi Games in particular.
And it’s bad for the Mech Master project because the game is just running in the Closed Beta stage and is facing headwinds directly from the market. Investors’ distrust in Defi Game, in general, affects the abstention of investors in Mech Master causing the $MECH token price to experience a continuous decline recently due to a sell-off.
On this occasion, I would like to reaffirm to everyone who believes in the Mech Master project, holding or not holding any $MECH token, and anyone who has known Mech Master, that there will never be a single $MECH token sold by the Mech Master game development team, especially in a “difficult” period like these.
“Difficulty” is in quotes because it is an indirect difficulty for Mech Master.
From AMAs to livestreams, sharing across communities, the representatives of Mirai Studio, the creator of Mech Master, and I, have all clearly emphasized the importance of game development. Although the main business model is the production of Defi Games, the Game part is always much more important to us than the Defi part.
That means, no matter what happens with Defi, we will still try to launch the Game following the right roadmap, trying to follow the timeline with the best quality. Currently, the entire Mirai Studio staff is focusing all human resources on improving the quality of the Mech Master game following the two weeks of closed beta in order to bring you guys a new, more complete test version with more features in better, higher quality. And you ask if we face any issues at all?
Yes, but these are practical difficulties in the game-making process. We had enough preparation and planning to make it through. But that’s not the “difficulty” mentioned in the quotes above, and it won’t affect the morale of Mirai Studio’s game development team or cause us to consider the negative moves that so many other Defi Game teams have made.
With the $MECH token being sold a lot recently, the project’s leadership team has been working with several holders, closing agreements, and constraints to minimize the amount of tokens sold for the next vesting.
If any investors want to withdraw from the project, or simply no longer believe in the project, or no longer believe in Defi Game, I understand. Similar things have happened to anything new that requires massive trust-building (remember the cases of ICOs and IEOs in 2017 and 2018?). But on the Mirai Studio side, we still believe in Defi Game, and place our full trust in it for the next steps of the studio.
Mech Master is the first and certainly not the last game from Mirai Studio.
Mech Master is just the beginning of a life full of excitement and energy for each person who is working hard at Mirai Studio. And now, with the resources, strength, and financial resources available, being strong is the only and simplest option for us.
