Cheap Oil Change Scams

I’ve had countless friends who have gone to mechanic shops only expecting to spend $20 on an oil change but ended up spending over $200. I’m sure many of you can relate.

If you are stopping by a mechanic shop to change your oil, you are either scared of damaging or prefer not working your car. Lets face it, doing the oil change yourself is quite dirty and inconvenient.

I’ve been researching to understand how the car mechanic industry works. I’ve discovered that many mechanic shops lose money on oil changes, but they make tremendous profit by upselling customers on things that you probably don’t need at a tremendous profit margin. They also minimize losses by using lower quality oil and oil filters.

If you try to search online to find the price of services excluding oil changes such as cabin air filter and engine filters replacements, you can’t. Many companies ask you to to schedule an appointment just to get you to come in. Another option is calling nearby places just to make sure you’re getting the best price.

Just remember that you generally get what you pay for because no one is in business to lose money. I’d honestly pay a premium to know what my car needs exactly. When we are in a state of panic because of what our mechanic tells us, we make misinformed decisions and enable others to take advantage of us.

I believe in getting great deals on oil changes, but at what cost when you don’t know if you can trust the mechanic that is working on your car.

I’m currently building out a transparent marketplace for trustworthy mechanics shops so that you can book online reservations for maintenance that you car needs.

No more waiting in line.

No more inaccurate wait times.

No more scams.

Please visit my website and leave your email if you want to seamlessly book car mechanic appointments with fully vetted mechanic shops.
