21st June is celebrated around the globe as International Yoga Day with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Yoga is a combination of physical, mental and spiritual practice. It is an ancient art that originated in India. Practising yoga helps in controlling one’s mind, body and soul.

Yoga is practised in the form of “asanas” or poses. These yoga-asanas help build strength, flexibility, balance and confidence. Also, it includes breathing exercises called “Pranayama” and meditation techniques as well.

The United Nations acknowledged its world-wide appeal, and on 11th of December 2014, it declared 21st of June as the International Day of Yoga. The International Day of Yoga aims to increase awareness about the various benefits of practising yoga.
