We should ask the thousands of women who have died at the hand of another even after getting a restraining order. Bullies are defying restraining orders and murdering the helpless!! Hurting people hurt people.

For years, I have seen the same scenario play out over and over where someone seeks protection from the law and only to become a victim of the very same law because the person sought protection against had little respect for the law and took a life.

Recently a San Diego 29 year old mother became a statistic after she sought protection from the court against her husband. She was granted her request by the court on a Friday and the following day, the husband shot and killed the family including himself. What good did that order do?

Prior to getting the restraining order, this mother had been subjected to much extreme harassment after she filed for a divorce which made her to seek the court help. He often showed up unannounced, stalked her, and repeatedly texted her.

Two weeks prior to her death, he text her a picture of a gun with liquor bottles in the background. Another big red flag, he was out of control
