With the ongoing pandemic in full swing, other recent infectious outbreaks tend to be ignored by the general public, one such case would be the cases of bubonic plague from northern China to Mongolia.

Recently, Chinese medical authorities had sealed off a village known as Suji Xincun in the Damao Banner district of Inner Mongolia region following a death attributed to bubonic plague. Daily disinfection of homes have been ordered in this village and all those who have been identified to have come in contact with the recently deceased patient were quarantined and reportedly found to be negative for this dangerous illness.

It should be noted several tourist locations have been closed in this region following this minor outbreak.
