Welcome to House of Medallion community digest: a members-only resource for the most forward-thinking leaders in music and technology. In this month’s edition, we highlight a number of new activations across Medallion’s artist ecosystem, including the launch of gen z alt pop king Gus Dapperton’s Cumulonimbus community and a massive new product innovation.
Headlining our news at this very minute is today’s launch of Jungle’s brand new album Volcano preorder on our freshly upgraded Digital Deluxe album product. Featuring a new and improved immersive content surface that allows fans to double click into HD exclusive content within the record experience itself — in Jungle’s case first access to the motion picture the band has made to accompany the album, months before it’s wide release — it’s also officially OCC chart compliant, meaning every sale will count towards Jungle’s week one UK chart position when it drops August 11th.
Community Highlights
Gus Dapperton — Cumulonimbus :: Gus Dapperton soft launched the Cumulonimbus community to fans in Discord. Fans who joined the community got an exclusive first listen to the new single, Homebody, in an exclusive Cumulonimbus listening party.
Tessa Violet — Ultraviolet :: Tessa Violet announced her upcoming album MY GOD! through the ULTRAVIOLET community. Fans who pre-saved the album received the presale code for tickets to the upcoming MY GOD! Tour. Tessa Violet also dropped the Bad Bitch Producer Pass, allowing fans who collect the pass to collaborate with her for the first community-powered music video for her new song, “Bad Bitch.”
Greta Van Fleet — Electric Tomb :: The band asked fans to submit videos of them playing their new single, “Farewell For Now,” using their official guitar tab. Fans who submit a video were given a limited edition digital guitar collectible designed by the band.
Tycho — Open Source :: Tycho gave Open Source members an exclusive first listen of his new single, “Time To Run,” the weekend before its release date — his first new music in over two years.
ILLENIUM — Phoenix Family :: ILLENIUM debuted his animated film, Starfall, influenced by his life journey, to go alongside his new self-titled album. Watch it here.
ILLENIUM also hosted his Trilogy concert in Colorado where 48,000 fans attended, making it the largest solo electronic artist headline show in history. Fans attending the ILLENIUM Live 2023 tour can check into their shows and unlock the digital tour zine, in addition to submitting their own show photos that may be featured in the tour zine.
Jungle — JFC :: Jungle launched our new and improved, UK chart eligible Digital Deluxe album product today, bundling the preorder for the new album with a Premiere Pass for the Volcano motion picture the band created to accompany the release of their new album of the same name.
The preorder is live today and the film will debut exclusively in Jungle’s JFC community to all collectors upon the album’s release August 11th.
Sigur Rós — Heimr :: Sigur Rós released their first new studio album in ten years, ÁTTA. To celebrate the album release and thank Heimr members, they invited members to submit questions for an upcoming Q&A for their new album and gave preorder access to an Heimr-exclusive vinyl colorway.
Sigur Rós launched Heimr Poster Archives, a series of limited digital collectible versions of posters from historic Sigur Rós shows every month.
