studies discover the longer road to death

the article with the headline of “The Surprising Secrets to Living Longer and Better”, issued on February 15, 2018, was written by Jeffrey Kluger and Alexandra Sifferlin. The cover holds four subtitles which aid little steps for a healthy choice of life, and one main title which is “How to live longer better”. the titles are all put in one maze that takes over the whole page. this symbolizes life which is a group of roads that lead to a certain destination with respect to the one a person chooses in their life. the cover’s background is a simple white layer with the front of a maze also holds the basic elements of life such as socializing, love, food, religion, exercise, medicine, and so on, portraying to their audience that they go through these events in life depending on their choices, but the ultimate ending for this maze is the idea of living a healthy life in an even better way.

the choice of a maze is significant because it is a concept known to be the most common form of entertainment through the past years, and this article speaks to those who are older in age. moreover the maze resembles ones choices and consequences. to me it resembled life as a whole and its vast choices one can take, this version of a maze resembles a healthy type of life and the options found within it are what will lead to a longer and healthier life.

the article acknowledges technology’s contribution in increasing the average life of humans through medication, but it also shed the light on other aspects some tend to undermine such as, throwing out the “bucket list” in ones life and live life to its very maximum. according to a study done at yale University “a group of 4,765 people with an average age of 72, those who carried a gene variant linked to dementia–but also had positive attitudes about aging–were 50% less likely to develop the disorder than people who carried the gene but faced aging with more pessimism or fear.”

it also entertains the importance of exercise, sexual activities, and close relationships that do not even have to be part of a family. the cover in relation to the article points out that its a matter of choice for the audience and for humans as a whole its up to them.
