a relentless dedication to a place you don’t call home

In this media experiment, I have compiled photos of sport jerseys (and other accessories) that belong to an assortment of UMBC students. All of the students whose belongings were photographed are from Maryland- and yet, all of the teams that are being represented are from other states or countries. Some teams are being represented by multiple students, though they have no direct personal ties to the area (through family or by living there themselves). This is the beginning of my exploration of the relationships between sports teams and unlikely enthusiasts, and the impact diasporic groups have on their formation, or lack thereof.
