American’s and Technology: We Can’t Live Without It
I believe that technology affects the lives of everyone in the world even if some people don’t have any access to technology at all. People are constantly using some sort of technology in their daily lives. But for the purposes of this assignment, the pictures that are shown below, focus on how I feel an “American” relationship to technology is.
As the pictures show, American’s have a variety of way in which they use technology. Its being integrated into our lives at a young age whether it be for education purposes or for personal use. It is both useful and disruptive to our lives. We can use it to speed up the process at a grocery store line by paying with our phones, but when it comes to communication, a night out with a significant other can turn into a night of staring at your phone instead of spending time with whoever you're with at the moment. We can also experience things without leaving the comfort of our own homes because of technology and the creation of virtual reality. There are some cases were machines are now doing the work for us which one day might lead to many people being unemployed. We’re way too dependent on it where it has come to simple things like a “family dinner”, turning into a gathering of people with cell phones. Sure, I think technology is helping in our everyday lives but I also feel that it should be used sparingly.
